KENYA POLICE BEAT IDPS TAKING THEIR nATIONAL IDS BACK TO GOK

KENYA POLICE BEATING IDPS AT RURING'U NYERI

IDPS issue has been one thing that GOK has chosen to neglect. IDPS in Nyeri were sad for the way GOK has been treating them, 400 idps had decided to march to Central provincial commission officer to return their ids to the Kenya government after years of what they termed as neglect but all was never to be since the Kenya police attacked them and tortured them.

Kenya police has been accused of using excessive power to intimidate Kenyans who protest. Many find it funny that the police are supposed to keep law and order but they have chosen to break the same law that they are supposed to uphold. Many Kenyans are fearing the police brutality as general elections get closer. For how long are Kenyans going to live in fear in their own country?

Kenya is full of Idps not only from the 2007 PEV but also from Moi era. A visit to Places like Maela, Naivasha, eldoret, subukia, Nyeri and Mai Mahiu proves that indeed GOK has neglected their own. It is very sad that the big wig politicians own so much that they can afford choppers, expensive homes, Switz bank accounts and all that money can buy but some Kenyans that they represent dont even know what they will eat and lack shelter.

Kenyans should join hands and help Idps fight for what is theirs. Idps are not asking for a favor and they have every right under Kenyan constitution to protest when they are neglected.

The millenium development goals remain a pipe dream when GOK can not deal with issues like Idps and Kenya police brutality in this Era.
